DAVID MacALLISTER (VICECHAIRMAN)

DAVID MacALLISTER ( VICE CHAIRMAN )

David is Vice Chairman and Show Secretary for 2008.

He first joined C.A.D.A.S. in 1970, and has held the following positions within the Society over the years:-

Chairman
Vice-Chairman
Treasurer
Show Secretary
Monthly Magazine Editor
(this jointly with his brother, Chris.)


Apart from his involvement with CADAS, he is also:-


Along with Peter Moore, Roy Bryan, Ivan Dibble and Don Kenwood, a founder member of the British Livebearer Association.
Member of the A.L.A. (American Livebearer Association)
Member of the V.D.A. (German Livebearer Association)
Ex-Judge and Council Member of the F.B.A.S.
Former member of the Kettering Aquarist Society.

Currently he owns a fish house housing 89 aquariums, in which he keeps and breeds the following Xiphophorus species :-

X. gordoni
X. guentheri
X. helleri
X. maculatus
X. malinche
X. meyeri
X. milleri
X. montezumae

Also several species of Goodea and Brachyrhaphis and other livebearers.

He has attended and shown at specialist livebearer shows in Germany, France, Holland, Norway, Denmark and the U.S.A.

As a speaker, he has given talks on livebearing fishes to clubs in England at Northampton, Kings Lynn, Southend, Strood, Bristol, Thorpe, Norwich, Erith, Cornwall, K.A.A.S. area group, B.L.A. Convention at Manchester and of course Corby. Also clubs in Norway, Germany, U.S.A. and Holland.

With other enthusiasts on several trips observing fish in their natural habitats in Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Costa Rica, Panama, Cuba, U.S.A., and Peru.
